Terms & Conditions
Plain-language terms for using Aero Reg.

The agreement between you and Aero Reg — what the service is, how you may use it, how the registry data should (and shouldn't) be relied on, and the limits of what we promise.

Effective 23 June 2026
Last reviewed 23 June 2026
Version v1.0
Status In force

These terms govern your use of the Aero Reg website, its public lookup tools, member accounts, and API. They are a plain-language agreement between you and Aero Reg. By using the service you accept them, so please read them — particularly the sections on data accuracy and on the limits of our liability.

Who we are#

In these terms, “Aero Reg”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the Aero Reg service, operated from 99 Birchwood Hill, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS17 8NT, United Kingdom. “You” means anyone who accesses or uses the service. You can contact us about these terms at legal@aeroreg.co.uk.

The service#

Aero Reg provides tools for looking up and tracking aircraft-registration information, built from the public aircraft registers published by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada (the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register). The service includes:

  • Public lookup by transponder hex code and by registration mark, free to use without an account.
  • Member accounts, which may unlock additional features as they are introduced.
  • Programmatic access through our API and data-export features, subject to your plan.

We may add, change, or withdraw features at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes that affect paying members.

Accuracy of registry data#

This section is important, so we have set it apart.

The data is supplied “as is”

Aero Reg re-publishes information from third-party government registers. That source data may be incomplete, delayed, withdrawn, or contain errors, and our processing of it may do the same. We make no warranty that any record is accurate, current, or fit for a particular purpose.

You must not rely on Aero Reg for any safety-critical, navigational, operational, legal, or compliance decision. Always verify aircraft-registration information against the official source register before acting on it. Aero Reg is an informational tool, not an authoritative or official record.

Accounts#

If you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password and API keys confidential, and not share your account with others.
  • Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at security@aeroreg.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised use.

You must be at least 16 years old to hold an account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Acceptable use#

You may use Aero Reg for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the site outside the limits of your plan or the API.
  • Exceed published rate limits, or attempt to circumvent them.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sub-license bulk extracts of our compiled data without our written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, probe its security, or disrupt its operation.
  • Use registry information to harass, stalk, or endanger any individual, owner, or operator.
  • Use the service in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone’s rights.

API use#

If you use the API, your API keys are personal to your account and must be kept secure. API access is subject to the rate limits and quotas of your plan. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke a key that is used abusively, that threatens the stability of the service, or that breaches these terms.

Some features are offered on paid plans. Where they are:

Billing
Payments are processed by PayPal. By taking out a paid plan you also accept PayPal’s terms for the payment itself. We never receive or store your card or bank details.
Fees & renewal
The fees, billing period, and any renewal terms are those shown when you subscribe. Recurring plans continue until cancelled.
Cancellation
You can cancel a recurring plan at any time; it will then not renew at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds
Statutory refund and cancellation rights for consumers are unaffected by these terms. Beyond those rights, fees already paid are non-refundable unless we say otherwise.

Intellectual property#

The underlying FAA, CCAR, CASA, and FOCA datasets are public records owned by the respective authorities. The way we collect, process, organise, enrich, and present that data — together with the Aero Reg software, design, and branding — is ours or our licensors’. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for its intended purpose, in line with these terms. Nothing here transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

Availability#

We work to keep the service available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, upstream data outages, or events beyond our control, and daily data updates depend on the source registers being published.

Limitation of liability#

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for:

  • Any loss arising from reliance on registry data that turns out to be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or loss of profit, business, or data.
  • Interruptions to, or unavailability of, the service.

Suspension & termination#

You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if your use threatens the security or stability of the service, or where we are required to by law. On termination, the licence granted to you ends, though provisions that by their nature should survive — such as those on data accuracy, intellectual property, and liability — continue to apply.

Privacy#

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy. By using the service you acknowledge those policies.

Changes to these terms#

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for significant changes affecting members, give reasonable notice. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law#

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
