MONARCH ENTERPRISES INC. Small sparrow, or small raven, or something in-between.2NM North OF GCN. No damage, bird came straight on and hit the main rotor blade. MOR: COPTER 15 (N57491) REPORTED A BIRD STRIKE AT THE MOQUI REPORTING POINT. THE LOCAL CONTROLLER ASKED IF THEY NEEDED ANY ASSISTANCE WHICH COPTER 15 SAID THEY DIDNT NEED ANY AND WILL ADVISE MORE INFORMATION ONCE ON THE GROUND. Papillon Called the tower, Pilot J. Koch, No damage, the bird hit the Main rotor blade, One bird hit, small sparrow or Raven or something in between.

Bird (believed to be a turkey vulture) was struck as the helicopter was starting its tour flight approximately 3 miles west of the field at approximately 150 feet AGL. Skies were partly cloudy but flight conditions were reported to be clear at flight level. Pilot believes rotors may have been hit due to only half of the bird was removed from the interior of the aircraft. MONARCH ENTERPRISES INC. EIGHT PHOTOS Smithsonian Wildlife/Species Identification: Turkey vulture (Cathartes aura) There was one passenger that was evaluated by the outside fire and medical agencies that cover our area, out of precaution. The passenger refused transportation to a medical facility. MOR: COPTER 15 - N57941 DEPARTED KGCN SW ON A HELI TOUR ROUTE. APPROX 3NM W OF KGCN THEY DECLARED THEY WOULD LIKE TO RETURN TO KGCN DUE TO BIRD STRIKE. COPTER 15 STATED THEY DINT REQUIRE ANY ASSISTANCE AND WOULD JUST LIKE TO LAND. COPTER 15 LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
