MEDICAL TRANSPORT. WHILE ON AN INTERFACILITY FLIGHT, CRUISING AT APPROX 1200 FT AND 2 MINUTES FOR HOSPITAL, THE FLIGHT NURSE SITTING IN CO-PILOT SEAT SAW A BIRD STRIKE THE FRONT NEAR CENTER OF AIRCRAFT. THE BIRID APPEARED TO BE DEFLECTED ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF CO-PILOT WINDSCREEN. ALL AIRCRAFT FLIGHT CONTROLS AND INSTURMENT INDICATIONS WERE NORMAL WHILE LANDING AT THE RECEIVING HOSPITAL. A COMPLETE INSPECTION OF THE AIRFRAME, COWLINGS AND ROTATING PARTS WAS COMPLETED.THERE WERE INDICATIONS OF THE BIRD STRIKING THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT ABOUT 12” ABOVE AND SLIGHTLY LEFT OF THE LANDING LIGHT AND DEFLECTED TO THE LEFT ALONG THE CO-POILOT WINDSCREEN TOWARD THE LEFT CO-PILOT DOOR S. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS THAT IT STRUCK ANY ROTATING COMPONENT. NO DAMAGE OBSEREVED, NOTIFIED AND DISCUSSED WITH MECHANIC SO HE WAS AWARE. AFTER INSPECTING THE AIRCRAFT THE PILOT AND CREW FELT SAFE TO CONTINUE WITH THE FLIGHT. NOTE: NUMBER STRUCK NOT REPORTED ASSUME 1. OWNER/ OPERATOR AIR METHODS CORP. MEDICAL TRANSPORT. While on final approach back to base, a small black bird flew up and was visible in the chin bubble for a second or less. Both the pilot and paramedic, who was riding in the co-pilot seat, simultaneously both announced "BIRD" as a small bump was felt near the nose of the aircraft. Landed the aircraft uneventfully one minute later, and upon shutdown inspected the aircraft. A small blood smudge and tiny feathers were observed just under the nose, just above and to the left of the wire strike protection system.
